Can you tell the difference? One is a real gun, the other a pellet gun. (Photo: OPP Twitter)
Earlier this week we told you about a man charged with firearm offences after a pellet gun was seen during a road rage incident on highway seven.
OPP constable Joe Tereschuk says the case is a reminder that even fake, airsoft, or pellet guns can get people into lots of trouble if they’re misused.
He says it goes back to times when people held their fingers in the pocket, claiming it’s a gun, trying to rob a store.
Tereschuk says people using things like airsoft guns for sport usually transport them responsibly.
The Constable says that charges have to be laid when these guns are used, especially since the airsoft and pellet guns can look like actual firearms. Police respond to calls as if they’re the real thing.
His advice? Don’t have it out, and don’t drive around one in your car.
He adds, “Leave these things at home.”
