Number of COVID-19 related deaths holds steady, while hospitalizations jump

We will get the first COVID-19 report of the week from the Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit today after four deaths were recorded in the their jurisdiction last week.

In Friday’s report the death toll held steady at 113.

But the number of hospitalizations increased by four to sit at six, with one in the ICU.

There were also 147 high-risk cases reported for the week, up by 13 from Wednesday.

As for outbreaks, the total went down by two. It sits at six, all in congregate care facilities, with 83 cases reported total.
