The Town of Smiths Falls will remain without a website for at least a few more weeks.
It went down earlier this month and has remained down after a brief return.
Economic Development and Tourism Manager Julia Crowder says it was the work of hack which has caused the extensive downtime, and they’re working with their service host provider and IT professionals to get it restored.
Crowder anticipates the wait will continue to be weeks, not days.
She says it’s about 85% restored at the moment. Prior to the hack, the town began the process of developing a new website with a new provider, and they approved a request for proposal for it Monday night.
Residents can visit speakupsmithsfalls.com for their municipal updates, or check out the Town’s social media channels.
