A local auto dealership is reporting what could be a record setting crime after a type of theft that’s becoming more and more frequent.
Hinton Dodge Chrysler, located on Hwy 7 just east of Perth, says a large number of their new vehicles had the catalytic convertors removed in a brazen theft.
20 new Ram trucks were targeted at a substantial repair cost.
These critical components of an auto’s emission control system are often stolen due to the amounts of precious metals they contain.
The owner has offered a substantial reward, as General Manager Terri Ann Hinton explains.
Anyone who can help catch those responsible can call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Or if you’d like to remain anonymous and potentially collect a reward, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
