Enhanced Diagnostic Imaging capability at Almonte General Hospital is one step closer.
The Ministry of Health confirmed its support to bring a new CT Scanner to the hospital, and has given the go-ahead to tender the project.
Bidders will be invited to propose a turnkey solution that will include internal renovations to create the necessary space as well as supplying the CT Scan equipment.
Carol Anne Esnard, Chair of the Mississippi River Health Alliance Allied Boards says, “Patients in both Almonte and, Carleton Place, as well as throughout our region, will benefit” from the new scanner.
It means that many won’t have to travel to Ottawa or Kingston to get their diagnostic tests completed.
The hospital foundation’s ‘Put Yourself in the Picture’ campaign will raise funds to purchase the Scanner.
