Parents of kids in daycares provided by county run providers have been waiting for the savings promised by the Federal Government ever since a deal was reached with the province.
It looks like the first reduction is coming this fall.
Chelsea Coe, early years specialist for Lanark County Children’s services says it likely won’t be until November.
It’s especially important as the cost of everything continues to rise, leaving many looking for savings.
Coe says with that in mind, they are doing their best to provide the first round of savings.
Coe says the target of $10 per day will come in time.
Parents of kids in the daycares that have opted in will also get cheques paying back a portion of the fees already paid dating back to April.
