As we have reported several times this summer, the Town of Perth has seen an increase in hate-related mischief incidents throughout the town.
Terrace on the Tay, the Central Perth Playground, Perthmore subdivision, and Perth & District Collegiate Institute are just some of the places that have been hit by racist or homophobic graffiti.
The town says the OPP continues to look for those responsible, and said in a statement says, “There is no place for hatred in any community, including Perth. Council and Town staff will continue to work together with residents to create a community where diversity is celebrated, and where every person can live with respect, dignity, and be free from discrimination.”
Anyone with information about the crimes should call Lanark County OPP at 1-999-310-1122, or if you see one of these crimes in progress call 9-1-1. Call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
