Modified mufflers will be one of the focuses for Lanark County OPP as part of their annual Labour Day long-weekend highway blitz this weekend.
Police will be also targeting the “Big Four” offences to reduce injuries and deaths on Ontario’s roadways, waterways, and trail systems.
The campaign focuses on increasing public awareness and makes sure people follow the law when it comes to the biggest causes of deaths on our roads:
• Alcohol/drug-impaired driving
• Distracted driving
• Aggressive driving (including speeding); and
• Lack of seatbelt use.
Police will be out across the province wherever you can boat, drive or use an ATV, to ensure laws are followed.
We’ll have more on this story from OPP Cst. Joe Tereschuk on Friday.
