Getting noticed: Lanark County Planet Youth addiction prevention initiative sparks interest on west coast

David Somppi, Chair of the Planet Youth initiative in Lanark County recently spoke about the project to prevent substance abuse in youth to members of the Provincial Government in British Columbia.

Somppi says they presented information gathered from surveys of Grade 10 students in the county. He adds they plan to use the data gathered to get youth involved in the process.

Somppi says as the group moves into the broader discussion there’s an opportunity for residents to become a local champion and move the effort to keep youth addiction to a minimum.
