A large portion of the two and a half hour Smiths Falls committee of the whole meeting Monday night was dedicated to combing through all 30 boards and committee positions which the town has a stake in.
Most roles were left unchanged after the review but some stood out.
Council decided staff to rewrite the terms of reference for the Racism and Discrimination Task Force, the Municipal Heritage, Housing Advisory, and Property Standards committees, and more.
Council’s liaison role with the Smiths Falls Food Bank is also being eliminated.
Representee Niki Dwyer told her fellow councillors she was never invited to a meeting in her term and claimed her reach out attempts went unheard, so they found little value in continuing the role.
