Perth’s committee of the whole tried to find a way to allow Donaldson’s storage to keep its recently added, new storage units.
Planning staff reported that in order for Donaldson’s Storage to get approval for the lockers, which were installed earlier this year without permits, the property would have to be connected to municipal water and sewer at the owner’s expense.
They noted that an official plan amendment would be needed to waive this requirement, and it would likely not receive upper tier approval.
Deputy Mayor Ed McPherson was pretty clear on how he feels about all the extra steps.
The committee directed staff to look for a solution to allow the expansion.
