It was the end of the first version of the Smiths Falls Housing Advisory Committee Monday night when its final report made its way to the virtual council chambers.
Early on the committee, which featured mayor Shawn Pankow and councilor Lorraine Allen alongside members of the public, identified 17 recommendations to improve the housing quality and accessibility in the town.
Pankow outlined the partnerships developed with non-profits and various by-laws and zoning changes as ways they did that but acknowledges there is still a long way to go.
The report included better educating tenants of their rights, an issue Pankow hears of far too often.
