The following are election results from around our listening area.
Township of Beckwith
Reeve Richard Kidd was acclaimed to the position. Brian Dowdall has won the Deputy Reeve Chair. Council will be made up of Erin Rose, Jessica McKenna-Kelso, and Kerri Nicholson-Watson.
Drummond North Elmsley
Reeve Steve Fournier, North Elmley Ward Councillors Ray Scissons and Paul Coutts, and Drummond Ward Councillors Paul Kehoe and John Matheson have all been acclaimed.
Lanark Highlands
Peter McLaren is back as reeve, while Bill King has been elected Deputy Reeve. Ward 1 Councilor Ronald Cross was acclaimed. Ward 2 will be represented by Steve Roberts, Ward 3 by Allison Vereyken, War 4 Marian Summers, and Ward 5 Councillor Jeannie Kelso was also acclaimed.
Mississippi Mills
Mayor Christa Lowry was acclaimed. Deputy Mayor will be Ricky Minnille. Councillors in Almonte Ward are Mary Lou Souter and Jane Torrance. In Ramsay Ward it’s Bev Holmes and Vick Lowe, and Pakenham will be represented by Denzil Ferguson who was acclaimed.
Merrickville-Wolford
Michael Cameron defeated incumbent Doug Struthers for the mayor’s seat in Merrickville-Wolford. Cameron served as Struther’s deputy mayor ahead of the election. Councillors in Merrickville Ward will be Margaret Gural, Mark Oldfield, while Stephen Ireland and Ronnie Maitland will serve in the Wolford Ward.
Montague Township
In Montague Township, Karen (Francis Jennings) is the new Reeve replacing Bill Dobson who didn’t seek re-election. The Deputy Reeve is Jeffrey Carroll. Council will be made up of Jim Abass, Morgan Kenny and Gerald Crabtree (all acclaimed).
North Grenville
Nancy Peckford is back in North Grenville as Mayor. Council will include John Barclay, Doreen O’Sullivan, Deb Wilson, and Kristin Elke-Strackerjan.
Township of Rideau Lakes
Arie Hoogenboom is re-elected Mayor in Rideau Lakes. Councillors in Ward 1 are Sue Dunfield and Cathy Livingston. Both Councillors in Ward 2 were acclaimed. They are Jeff Banks and Marcia Maxwell. In Ward 3, Linda Carr and Joan Delaney have been elected. Ward 4 Councillors are Deborah Anne Hutchings and Ronald Pollard.
Tay Valley Township
Rob Rainer is the new Reeve in Tay Valley. Deputy Reeve is Fred Dobbie. Councilors in Bathurst Ward are Korrine (Janet) Affleck and Marilyn Thomas. In Burgess Ward its Greg Hallam and Angela Pierman, and Sherbrooke Ward will be represented by Wayne Baker and Andrew Kendrick.
Village of Westport
Mayor Robin Jones has won another term. More results to follow.
Athens
Herb Scott has been re-elected in Athens.
