The rest of the province is going to catch-up to Perth under new legislation from the Ford Government.
No bylaw amendments or municipal permissions would be needed to allow three residential units on one lot.
That could mean a home with a separate apartment and an additional structure on site. It could also mean duplexes or triplexes could be built on lots zoned for single family homes.
Perth already allows this and it has been used by Cornerstone Landing for both permanent and temporary housing for young people on one site.
The plan would benefit everyone from new homeowners who’d like to buy a smaller unit, to families that want to keep elderly members close to home, yet independent.
