Premier Doug Ford says the province is ready to get back to the bargaining table with CUPE, which represents 55,000 education workers.
It was just Monday that the Premier promised to repeal Bill 28, the law that would have forced workers back to schools and made any strike illegal.
Ford says now’s the time to get back to work.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce told reporters they will work towards a fair deal with the union, and it will improve pay for those at the lowest end of the scale.
CUPE has promised not to strike, as long as the law was repealed. They did point out that they are still in a legal strike position.
They are coming off two days of walkouts, one Friday, one yesterday, that left students learning from home.
