The Ontario government is investing more than $760 million in Ambulance services.
They say it is to help municipalities facing increased cost pressures in their emergency departments.
As part of this funding, MPP Steve Clark has announced that Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes will receive just under $8 million to support the hiring of additional paramedics, wage and cost of living adjustments and general ambulance services operation to meet the needs of the local community.
It works out to 50% of the cost of the service.
Warden Roger Haley says they are grateful for the funding, adding its critical that the people of Leeds and Grenville continue to received the highest quality paramedic services.
