The bridge before construction began
A major artery in Lanark and Leeds Counties roadways will be closed twice this month.
The Rideau Ferry Bridge will be completely shut to traffic so they finish work before the project takes a winter hiatus, and the north lane re-opens.
Construction work has been underway since April, with Dalcon Constructors finishing up the east side of the bridge.
They hoped to get both sides of the bridge done this year, but labour and material issues means they’ll do this all over again next Spring.
The first of the two closures is November 15th from 8:00am until 5:00pm. They’re expected to let us know by the end of the week when the second closure will take place.
Lanark County apologizes for the inconvenience.
