Shelter Movers, a national, volunteer-powered charity that provides free moving and storage to people experiencing abuse, have recently expanded to Lanark County through a partnership with Lanark County Interval House.
Shelter Director Wendy Mitchell says to mark the occasion, they’re hosting SoupShare, a contest judged by local dignitaries like Mayor Toby Randell and Interval House’s Erin Lee.
It takes place today from 12 until 2:30 at the Carleton Place Canoe Club and is free to attend.
It’s a great opportunity to sign up to volunteer with Shelter Movers, or just learn more about the organization’s great work.
