Far from a new face to public life, Dawn Quinn is back and getting her second “first-term,” as a Smiths Falls councillor.
In reality, this’ll be her fifth term in the role but is back in the seat after losing her 2018 re-election bid.
She says the four years away from council chambers did her good.
She says she’s looking forward to working with mayor Shawn Pankow once more.
She spoke out publicly against the Beckwith Street revitalization project and expressed opposing views towards the last term of council including Pankow.
Quinn says that dispute must be water under the bridge, a sentiment the mayor shares, and it’s important that this council works together.
Quinn wants to find ways to draw up more tourism activity in the town to boost the local economy, as well as decide on the long-idle Confederation Bridge, which has been decommissioned for seven years, and was the sticking point in many campaign platforms.
