Carleton Place wants residents and visitors to know that three pedestrian crosswalks are now active on Bridge Street as part of the revitalization projects.
They’re all found between Lake Avenue and Mill Street.
Public Works says they’re fully functional. Anyone using them should press the button to let drivers know they’re crossing.
Drivers have to stop by law. Not doing so could result in a $1000 fine and loss of four demerit points.
By the way the new crosswalk in front of Town Hall in Smiths Falls is now working too. That was one of the finishing touches for the Beckwith St. Revitalization project.
