It’s a reprieve for the Climate Change Advisory Panel in Perth, which was facing a council vote that would have seen it ended in the town.
The majority of councillors had supported the proposal to disband the panel at a previous meeting.
They were instead looking to work with Lanark County, but public feedback had council thinking twice.
After the motion to disband it was defeated, Councillor Gary Waterfield put forward a proposal to keep it for one more year.
It will move forward with revised terms of reference, and they’ll review its benefits and costs before making any decisions on its future. That motion was approved.
