Cash infusion in PSFDH will increase comfort and convenience levels for patients

Local officials are commenting on a cash infusion of just under $400,000 to the Perth and Smiths Falls Distrtict Hospital that was announced last month.

The cash is part of the Health Infrastructure and Community Infrastructure Renewal Funds.

LFK MPP John Jordan says the government must continue to support critical upgrades, repairs and maintenance, so that residents can access the care they need in safe, comfortable environments.

Hospital President and CEO Michael Cohen said the funding will support the hospital’s ability to maintain high quality services to our community.

The hospital will use the money to upgrade elevators, and flooring, and upgrading or refurbishing its air units to ensure they’re up to snuff.

The work is expected to be done by the end of the fiscal year.
