Last Tuesday, K9 advocates, a dog rescue in Manitoba that is dedicated to help first nation’s communities with animal overpopulation, reached out to Furry Tales Cat Rescue.
They were hoping that the Smiths Falls-based group could save 48 cats in need from the province.
By Friday, those cats had arrived safe and sound and the work to get them ready for new homes began.
Furry Tales Foster Coordinator Johanna Cake says it was an incredible team effort and things came together quickly.
Cake says it was an incredible joint effort.
The cats are now being vetted and some are already in Foster Care.
Vet bills and supplies for the cats are expected to top $15,000. That’s money Furry Tales will come up with through fundraising and donations.
