At Perth council’s marathon committee of the whole meeting on Monday, a proposed budget review brought questions on the major housing development on the Perth Golf Course lands.
Councillor Jim Boldt questioned why it would take so long to get shovels in the ground to start building homes when he heard that construction wouldn’t likely start until 2025 at the earliest.
Town director Joanna Bowes indicated time for approvals for such a large subdivision is normally 2 years at best. She commented on its complexity.
The proposal could be as large as 1,000 homes.
