In 2017, Smiths Falls council enlisted the help of Honeywell to investigate energy efficient projects in 18 identified buildings and from 2019, track the progress through the years.
The total cost for the projects, including the installation of an ice rink control system and switching over to LED’s on streetlights and buildings, came in just shy of $1 million.
As Honeywell’s Peter Krajcovic told council Monday night, the cost savings results surpassed their expectations.
Councillor Peter McKenna feels they need to take the results and lessons they learned on the road.
Honeywell’s been recording and reporting the results from 2019 to present day.
