Mississippi Mills Council held a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday to review the draft 2023 budget.
Because the election has them pressed for time this year, Council chose to provide pre-budget approval for a number of items that were time sensitive in nature.
That includes hiring a fire prevention officer, some infrastructure projects, and money for waste and waste water management plans.
Based on the levy requirement, and the estimated assessment value, the Municipal portion of the tax rate would represent a 3% increase.
Nothing is final just yet.
