Perth Council held another lengthy meeting to talk about the 2023 budget, and they revisited a decision that had some people in the town set to go off.
Councillor Barry Smith‘s motion to reinstate $7,000 for the town’s Canada Day fireworks display triggered some debate.
Deputy Mayor Ed McPherson said they don’t want to be seen as a wet blanket, certainly when they’re so early in the budget process.
Most agreed and Councillors voted 5 to 2 to restore the funding to the celebration.
