Please don’t drink or get high and get behind the wheel. More people are off now leading up to Christmas and that means more risk of impaired drivers on the roads.
OPP acting Sergeant Joe Tereschuk says police are out to make sure the roads and streets are safe.
Tereschuk says police are out in full force with their Festive RIDE program.
The acting Sergeant says putting your own and other lives at risk isn’t worth it. If you’re caught, you’ll be fined, lose your license and could even face jail time.
The OPP also says other drivers who notice someone driving erratically during the holidays or any time of year for that matter should call 9-1-1 right away and report it.
Smiths Falls Police have also stepped up their RIDE programs ahead of, and through the holidays.
