A winter Storm Warning has been issued by Environment Canada for our entire listening area.
The weather agency says snow will begin this evening and change to rain by tomorrow morning. We could get up to 15 cm of snow, and up to 20mm of rain in some spots.
As it warms up to about plus 3 tomorrow morning, there’s the risk of freezing rain.
The temperature then drops tomorrow afternoon to minus 7, meaning we could see a flash freeze. The rain will shift back to snow then too.
On top of that, the winds are expected to be strong starting tomorrow afternoon and will stay that way until Saturday morning.
Those winds could cause blowing snow too.
Please do not head out on the roads during the storm unless it is an absolutely necessary trip, and be prepared for power outages. Get a kit together to be ready in case the winds and heavy snow or ice damage the lines.
