Please wait if you plan to travel today so crews can clean up the roads to make things a bit safer.
It’s not too bad in Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville, but there is blowing snow and the roads are still slippery.
Weather warnings remain in place all across Ontario, with snow, ice and wind still being major concerns for many regions.
Driving conditions are so bad that several major highways are closed including big stretches of the 401. OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt gave an update on Twitter and says the big shutdowns will stay in place until all stranded vehicles have been removed and the roadway’s conditions have been improved.
According to Hydro One, almost 75,000 customers are still in the dark. That includes many in our listening area.
Flights cancellations are also filling up boards in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. South of the border, officials in the U-S say more than 4300 flights were cancelled Friday alone.
If you do head out today, please be extremely careful and realize any trip will take extra time.
