The Almonte General Hospital’s Emergency Department should be open if you need to visit today.
It was closed last night (Tuesday) thanks to a staff member taking ill.
Its something that we are sadly getting used to with many local ERs and other hospital departments shutting down periodically as the institutions clamor for more staff. It’s an issue affecting hospitals across the province and country.
The hospitals, and local governments continue to push the province for help. The province is turning to the feds for more funding to hire staff and lure more people to the healthcare field.
