Mississippi Mills Mayor Christa Lowry is the new Zone 8 representative for the the Rural Ontario Municipal Association (or ROMA’s) board of directors.
In a statement released on her social media, Lowry said in part, “I am stepping into the big shoes left by former City of Ottawa Councillor Eli El-Chantiry who represented Zone 8 since 2014.”
Zone 8 includes the City of Ottawa, United Counties of Prescott & Russell, and Lanark County.
ROMA is the rural arm of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO). The Zone 8 position is similar to the one Lowry held with AMO from 2020-2022, but is more specifically focused on rural matters.
