Carleton Place Mayor Toby Randell is looking for the public’s help to catch whoever spray-painted the new Central Bridge with graffiti.
It’s the second time since it was re-opened about two weeks ago.
It appears someone walked out on the scaffolding still in place to complete work on the bridge to commit the crime.
In a social media post the mayor writes, “We don’t need a debate over why or how old or what to do to encourage people not to do this sort of idiocy, as none of that will help us get closer to catching the person. We can have a fulsome discussion about next steps to curb it down the road, which will be useful.”
For now, Randell is asking anyone with information to please call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or 1-800-222-8477 if you’d like to remain anonymous through Crime Stoppers. If your tip leads to an arrest you’ll also get a reward.
