Skate the Lake has been postponed due to the current ice conditions following a lengthy stretch of humid weather.
The 18th edition that takes over Portland has been moved to Family Day weekend February 18th and 19th, as opposed to the final weekend of January as per tradition.
Skaters traverse the beautiful Rideau Lake on a one-kilometer oval, with the weekend offering events for all ages and skill levels.
The 10K and 25K take place on Saturday morning, followed by the popular kids 5K and the 5x1K relay race where teams that enter are encouraged to dress up.
There’s also horse-drawn wagon rides, concession stands, bonfires and more, culminating in the main events: the 5k and 50k races on Sunday.
