Smiths Falls Mayor Shawn Pankow welcomed hundreds of hungry Citizen’s to the Community Centre Saturday Afternoon for the Mayor’s Ukrainian New Year’s Levee.
Everyone was welcome to take part in some authentic Ukrainian cuisine prepared by the Mayor and his family.
The Mayor last held the event in 2018. He thought now was a good time to bring it back as a show of support for those displaced by Russia’s ongoing attempt to invade the country and the subsequent war.
Some of the families who have settled in our area were in attendance and grateful for the taste of home and show of respect from the town.
