The Rural Ontario Municipal Association, or ROMA, conference is underway.
Yesterday they heard from Premier Doug Ford who spoke about infrastructure and broadband services. He also addressed the importance of affordable living for Ontario families, saying it requires innovative thinking and change on the part of the government.
Earlier, ROMA Chair and Westport Mayor Robin Jones spoke about their priorities, including attainable housing, access to services and digital connectivity, which was in line with Ford’s message.
She told the group of 1,500 participants from across the province, “Rural Ontario has always has resilience, resolve and kindness.”
