Tay Valley Township has approved their budget for 2023.
The total levy increase is 6.13% between the operational and capital budgets, but the hard tax rate increase residents will see is 5% due to an extra $70,000 in an assessment levy,
The hike averages out to $70 per year for the average property owner.
Big ticket items include an additional $700,000 and change to the capital program budget from 2022 which staff has offset parts of through reserve transfers and grants.
There’s also a near $80,000 hike in fuel expenses slated for 2023.
In terms of capital grants, one of the largest pieces of the pie is a $240,000 cheque for the Maberly Hall renovations as a green and inclusive community building.
