Smiths Falls schools offering a hands on educational approach to Black History Month

Schools across Smiths Falls are engaging in a real-world Black History Month project.

Upper Canada District School Board Principal of Equity and Inclusion Dan McRae goes over the details.

Montague Public School, Chimo Elementary, and Lombardy Public School will all be participating in the project, each school with a teacher leading the charge.

While there’s lead teachers at the schools overseeing things, McRae says it’s up to the students to reach out to community groups and members to gauge interest.
