Pivotal Help is expanding its services to Carleton Place thanks to a $20,000 grant from Lanark County.
The organization provides financial support to residents seeking counselling services.
Founder and executive director Breanna Bedor lost her mom to cancer at 18 and struggled with the grief, unable to access the same mental health supports available today.
She says that experience, on top of being in a classroom, as a catalyst to the beginning of Pivotal Help.
Bedor says they help between 7-15 people a year, and explains the reason why there are a few eligibility requirements for applicants is to ensure those who need the most help receive it.
