It was standing room only at a public meeting in Almonte this past weekend.
They gathered to talk about a new Indigenous-led and themed project.
The effort, called Ginawaydaganuc Village will be made up of a central elder’s lodge surrounded by 2-storey structures to be homes to a business hub, educational facilities and a tourist centre.
Mayor Christa Lowry says it will be a special place.
It’s hoped they’ll be able to launch it next year.
