A Smiths Falls woman is facing several charges after allegedly defrauding an elderly woman out of $44,500.
Smiths Falls police say they arrested 59-year-old Kimberly Trafford, claiming she took advantage of an 80-plus-year-old vulnerable person while working as their house cleaner.
Trafford has been charged with 75 offenses, including being unlawfully in a dwelling, theft of credit card, fraud over $5000.00, use credit card obtained by crime (70 counts) and disobeying a court order x2.
She was held for a bail hearing and later released by a Justice of the Peace to a residence in the Smiths Falls area.
Police say Trafford has a history of similar offences and the Police are concerned that she may have victimized other vulnerable members of our community in their homes.
