Mississippi Mills approved their 2023 budget last month with a 3% tax rate increase.
That equals to about $46 in additional annual taxes for the average homeowner.
Mayor Christa Lowry said it was a challenging budget coming off an election year, giving council less time to determine their direction and set their goals, which she outlined.
Some key projects included in the 2023 budget are $510,000 for parks and recreation upgrades, almost $200,000 for community safety and well-being, and $4.3 million in road and bridge work.
