The proposed location of the extraction pit
Friends of McDonalds Corners, the newly formed community group opposing a potential extraction pit in their neck of the woods, are hosting a meeting on Monday (April 17) to provide updates since the initial public meeting.
In an email sent out to supporters, the group said since dozens of people filled Lanark Highlands council to speak against the proposed Cavanagh Construction pit on a site between Barbers Lake and a popular sugar bush, they’ve joined Gravel Watch, an organization of citizen groups dealing with similar developments.
They’re also working towards forming a non-profit corporation to represent the groups interests.
The Monday meeting’s at the McDonalds Corners Agricultural Hall beginning at 6p.m.
