April is Parkinson’s awareness month and a fundraiser is taking place in Carleton Place.
Put on by Leona Wagorn, a light lunch and music from five bands and Wagorn herself will keep attendees entertained.
Wagorn’s had Parkinson’s for over 20 years, and says she doesn’t let it to define her.
Wagorn says Parkinson’s is not a disease that’s typically developed later in life anymore.
The money raised from the event will go to the Parkinson’s Research Consortium at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
There’s also a silent auction, a 50/50 and door prizes.
It takes place at the Carleton Place Legion from 1pm to 6pm on April 22nd.
