The chairman of the Upper Canada District School Board likes what he sees in the new legislation introduced by the province.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce outlined the Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act this week, with an aim at standardizing the education system and refocus on various subjects.
John McAllister feels the UCDSB already was and continues to be on par with the government’s thinking.
McAllister says outside of putting the additional funding the boards will be receiving to use, it’s more or less the status quo at the UCDSB.
The province hopes to “refocus,” the system on reading, writing, math, and STEM education.
