The Lanark County Community Services Committee recieved the 2022 Asset Management Plan last week.
The thorough document combed through every nook and crany of the county and offered a status update on where it all stands.
That includes bridges. Councillor Christa Lowry points out that there’s been a lot of discussion around bridges in their term, specifically the Blakeney and Andrewsville bridges, but the figures show they are outliers, not the norm.
76% of the county’s 45 bridges are considered in good condition, with the remainder in fair or very good range, save for 4% which were in the very poor side of the scale.
Public works, which has seen its $6 million reserve drop to zero after council pulled the trigger on the Andrewsville and Blakeney projects.
Asked if it was a concern to operate on empty, county treasurer Kevin Wills says it shouldn’t be.
