Heroic actions by five people at the Brockville YMCA in April resulted in a life saved and their actions being recognized.
Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MP Michael Barrett recently recognized the efforts by Timothy Williams, Ava Nordin, Braelyn Hunter, Mylene Arsenault and Beth Typhair for saving a young woman who was unresponsive in the pool.
All five were able to get the woman out of the water and performed needed first aid until responder arrived on the scene.
Barrett said in a statement that because of their actions a life was saved, and they are heroes to the community.
