There’s one more weekend in Safe Boating Week in Ontario.
If you’re hitting the water, OPP Constable Joe Tereschuk says, do so dry.
Tereschuk adds that offenses on the water as just as bad as in a car.
Getting caught drinking or taking drugs and boating will result in losing your driver’s license and possible jail time.
As the operator of the vessel you’re also responsible for there being enough life jackets for everyone on board.
Failure to do so could result in a steep fine.
