The SFPS call on MCRT staff to aid them in mental health calls, bringing a social worker on scene to help de-escalate an individual through a crisis.
Deputy Police Chief Jodi Empey said the program has worked tremendously well, and the stats prove it.
The SFPS said they’re feeling confident they’ll receive funding once again for the program.
They received over $141,000 in 2022.
Lanark County OPP received just under $112,000.
