The SFDCI Spirit of the Drum Educational and Traditional Powwow, an experience of reconcilliation and eduction, saw more than 4,000 people flock to Duck Island in Smiths Falls last weekend for two days of workshops, music, Indigenous dancing and more.
Organizers have just released numbers from the popular draw.
The powwow is an extension of the schools Indigenous studies program and Real-World Learning opportunities for students. It saw more than Indigenous dancers from across North America take part in the powwow, including drum groups from as far away as Arizona and New Brunswick.
The powwow also featured more than 60 displays curated by SFDCI Indigenous Studies art and English students.
